This morning, news consumers woke up to news that the Congressional Budget Office has found that the "top 1 percent of earners more than doubled their share of the nation's income over the last three decades," while incomes have stagnated for the working classes. Much of this, the CBO found, is the result of conservative government policies that are deliberately less redistributive than the policies of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, when the class gap was much less extreme.
