No philosophy, even secular humanism supports the greedy selfish idea of objectivism. <br /><br />Wanting to care for and love the weak is not exclusive to humans. Empathy is seen in all of the higher animals. The only humans who have no empathy are sociopaths like Casey Anthony and OJ Simpson and many Republicans.<br /><br />There was a true story about a gorilla and a cat. The handlers have the gorilla a cat for a companion and the gorilla bonded with the cat. The cat gave nothing to the gorilla. It brought it no food or husbandry but none the less the gorilla loved the cat. One day the cat died and the gorilla cried and mourned for over one month.
